Bring the agent you already use

ChatGPT · Claude · Gemini · your own agent

Thermal is provider-agnostic. Your team picks.

Nothing runs unattended

AI dispatch software that drafts the job and waits for you.

A request comes in. Thermal builds the work order, the schedule slot and the price from your records, then shows it to a person before anything is committed.

In practice

Three roles, three assistants, one set of records and one set of approval rules.

Technician

AI for plumbers, HVAC techs and electricians.

"I'm on a roof with my hands full. I need the history now, not tonight."

Point the camera at the nameplate and ask. Thermal matches the unit to your equipment record and pulls the visits, the notes and the coverage.

The work order comes back drafted, with the reason for every line, ready for a person to approve.

  • Nameplate to equipment record without typing a serial number.
  • Service history, coverage and open notes in one answer.
  • Work order drafted before you climb down the ladder.

Technician role · drafts, never posts

shown in: ChatGPT on a phone

Front office

An AI dispatcher for everything the front office chases.

"Every Friday I find out who hasn't paid, and why, one invoice at a time."

Ask for the aging list and get it grouped by what is actually wrong: no purchase order, disputed, or simply late.

Follow-ups come back written. Anything with a dispute on it is held for a person to call.

  • Aging list read and grouped without a spreadsheet.
  • A follow-up written for every invoice that needs one.
  • Disputed accounts held back, never sent by surprise.

Office role · approves within its ceiling

IT & operations

Field service management over MCP, straight from the terminal.

"Dana left Friday. Her access should have been gone Friday."

Thermal connects over MCP, the Model Context Protocol — the open standard for letting an assistant act inside a system. Any agent that speaks it can drive Thermal.

You type plain English. The agent proposes the change, you confirm it, and it lands on the log.

  • Offboard in one request: sessions, access and open jobs.
  • Onboard a tech with the right role, branch and price book.
  • Reporting piped to the tools you already run on a schedule.

Admin role · every action audited

> Dana left Friday. Close out her access.

thermal - staff.offboard (MCP) (user: "dana.k", preview: true)

Suggested: end 3 sessions, revoke access

3 open jobs to move: WO 4418, 4421, 4423

> Add Marco as a tech. North branch, standard price book.

thermal - staff.invite (MCP) (role: "technician", branch: "north")

Suggested: Technician role, North branch, Standard book

> Send weekly job margin by tech to our BI tool.

thermal - reports.schedule (MCP) (report: "margin_by_tech")

Product direction

Agentic field service that stops for a person.

A request arrives from the agent you already use. Thermal assembles the equipment-first context, proposes the action with its reason, and commits nothing until a person approves it.

Reason

Agreement covers the visit and the unit is under warranty. Price matches the flat-rate book.

You set the ceiling — Off, Suggest, or Auto. Anything touching money or a customer waits for your approval, and every action lands on the record.

Questions

What is field service management, and what does AI change?

What is field service management?

Field service management is the software a trades business runs on. It holds customers, equipment, schedules, work orders, parts, pricing and invoices in one record, and it carries a job from the first phone call to the paid invoice. HVAC, plumbing and electrical companies use it to schedule techs, track equipment and get paid on time.

What is AI field service management?

AI field service management means the assistant works inside the system, not next to it. You ask in plain language. Thermal finds the customer, the equipment and the history, then drafts the work order, quote or invoice and shows you exactly what would change. A person approves before anything is saved. Nothing runs unattended.

How does Thermal work with ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini?

You connect Thermal to the assistant your team already pays for. The same records, the same permissions and the same approval rules apply in every one of them. A tech can use ChatGPT on a phone, the office can use the Claude desktop app, and IT can use a command-line agent. Provider-agnostic on purpose.

What does MCP mean for field service software?

MCP is an open standard for connecting an assistant to a system it can act on. Thermal speaks it, so any agent that also speaks it can read jobs, look up equipment and propose changes. That means no custom integration per assistant, no lock-in to one vendor's model, and one permission model everywhere.
